Director - Quality

Description:This position leads the company in the design, development and deployment of Quality Systems and ensures consistent quality in compliance with industry standards and world-wide approval agencies. Manages the operations of our quality laboratory and test facilities. Facilitates the Lean Manufacturing process.
Duties:

 

  • Establishes and documents quality conformance procedures which improved the overall business process, products, and manufacturing operations.
  • Integrates quality checks into operations through defect prevention rather than detection.
  • Establishes visual, visible, and easily understandable performance reports for quality measures, at the source of the process, which contribute to self correction.
  • Maintains compliance with applicable ISO quality processes through regular meetings with department heads, production supervisors, process engineers and product engineers.
  • Establishes supplier quality standards, and participate in major supplier quality audits.
  • Works with suppliers and customers on quality issues.
  • Establishes problem solving teams and train employees in problem solving techniques.
  • Plans and coordinates dimensional measuring methods for the corporation.
  • Prepares company for ISO audits and works with ISO auditors.
  • Trains employees in quality management techniques.
  • Understands and utilize ERP system to capture appropriate operating procedures and specifications, and to product appropriate reports.
  • Maintains current knowledge of best business practices and technology.
  • Maintains records of worldwide product approvals, patents, and copyrights, tracks pending expirations, and insures that renewals are secured on all appropriate products.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:Requirements include a Bachelor's degree plus ten years management experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated excellent project management skills, communication skills, and strong problem solving skills. Previous experience in an ISO environment is mandatory. Prefer CQE certification and a Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
